Where are backups stored?

Modified on Mon, 14 Jul at 1:30 PM

Ensuring the safety and availability of your website's data is our top priority. To achieve this, we implement a multi-layered backup strategy, utilizing multiple platforms to store backups of our clients' sites. This approach ensures that your data is protected and can be quickly restored if needed.

Primary Backup Platform

We use a comprehensive WordPress management tool that assists us in performing regular plugin updates, security scans, and creating backups of your website. These backups are stored securely on offsite servers, separate from your live website, providing an additional layer of protection.

Additional Backups for Hosted Clients

For clients who host their websites with us, we partner with Flywheel, a managed WordPress hosting provider. Flywheel performs automatic nightly backups of your site, storing them offsite using Google Cloud Storage for maximum security and reliability. These backups are retained for 30 days, allowing for easy restoration if necessary.

Benefits of Hosting with Us

By hosting your website with us, you benefit from multiple layers of backups:

  • Primary Backup Platform: Regular backups managed through our WordPress management tool.

  • Flywheel Backups: Nightly backups stored offsite on Google Cloud Storage.

This redundancy ensures that your website's data is safeguarded against various scenarios, providing peace of mind and quick recovery options in the event of data loss or corruption.

If you have any questions about our backup processes or need assistance with restoring a backup, please don't hesitate to contact our support team.
